Welcome
Thank you for taking a moment out of your schedule to visit Lawyer Disability Quotes. We have worked in the insurance business for over 30 years with lawyers, dentists, physicians, nurses, cyber security professionals and others in white-collar and administrative vocations to secure disability and life insurance. According to the American Bar Association, about 75% of lawyers are in private practice. Small law firms with less than five lawyers make up more than half of the entire market in the United States and 49% of those firms are run by solo-practitioners. A person running their own legal practice will need disability insurance and need to know what to buy in order to survive a significant financial blow in the event of a cash flow disruption due to illness or injury. This is the reason we have dedicated this agency website to assisting private and solo-practitioners of the law in addition to others working in a professional capacity.
A little about me
I am a 1987 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College where I lettered in both football and track. I am also a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Richmond, Virginia Alumni Chapter. I am currently licensed in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, California #4100755 and counting. I sold my first disability insurance policy in the fall of 1994 which was a Guardian Provider Plus policy. Four years later in the fall of 1998, the person I sold that first disability insurance policy to was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about one year after giving birth to her first child. This initial experience convinced me that I was doing a good and honorable service that is under-appreciated yet, very much needed.
Disability Insurance
Lawyers need disability insurance due to their educational investment, their earning potential and their risk of disability. Becoming a lawyer can earn you a lot of money but, it also comes with a very significant up front financial investment. You need an undergraduate degree and then you need a law degree and then you need to work to pay off the debt created by educating yourself. According to U.S. News and World Report, the average cost of a public in-state law school in 2016-2017 was more than $26,000 per year. The top 10 law schools had an average annual cost of more than $60,000 and that's over and above basic college costs. About 1 in 3.57 Americans will experience a disability between ages 20 and 65. The average length of a long term disability is 31.6 months with 1 in 5 individuals experiencing a long term disability lasting 60 months and 1 in 20 individuals being permanently disabled. We offer both Principal and Guardian as our primary disability insurance carriers. Below, you will find useful resources about disability, disability insurance and the process of getting your disability insurance claim paid. Disability insurance is not the most inexpensive insurance purchase you will make but, it could be the most important insurance purchase you make because, Americans are 3.5 times more likely to suffer a long term disability over their working lives between the ages of 20 and 65 than they are to die during that same time frame.Disability Insurance Resources:
